As of 11:58 p.m. on January 7th, 2008 I officially became a Great-Grandma
and I couldn't be happier!
I was a nervous wreck all day waiting for Eden to be born!
Even after Pitocin, the contractions just wouldn't go beyond a certain point. Abby's
doctor said if nothing happened after 11:00 p.m., she'd do a Caesarian Section.
Abby was not thrilled with THAT... but that's what happened and our
little boy emerged into our world two minutes before midnight.
He was quiet and wide-eyed and checking out everything.
He's a good baby, but he doesn't like sleeping for very long. He wants to be awake
and getting attention. He LOVES being held and talked to.
Unfortunately this doesn't give Mommy and Daddy much rest, especially Mommy.
We're very proud of him and we all love him with ALL our hearts!

Christmas at AT&T and Dinner with Some Friends

The first picture is of me and three of my girlfriends who met for dinner one evening shortly before Christmas over at Edward's Lounge, which is just a half block away from my house. These are girls I used to work with at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. a number of years ago... Linda Hilton on the end, then Brenda McClelland and JoAnn Slater. MMMM... the food was DELICIOUS (I had eggplant parmesian) and we had a good time catching up on each other's lives. We try to get together at least 3 to 4 times a year.
Next is Carolyn Woodbridge... one of my co-workers at AT&T. This was on Christmas Night... she was just leaving to go home for the night.
Melissa Jasper is another one of our operators. She was not aware I was taking her picture until it was already taken. If you look closely you can see she has her headset on. She was standing up taking her calls peering over the little wall separating the various computers. You can see how the top of the wall had been decorated with tinsel garland and ornaments for Christmas
My friend Dee Preston came to work Christmas night dressed for the occasion. She was wearing her Santa hat! She actually had three different kinds of hats to wear. She was into the spirit of Christmas!
Here is a shot of the Christmas tree we had in our cafeteria and the last picture is of the Christmas tree that was in the lobby, in between the two sets of glass doors. With various people adorning the tops of the wall separators in various way, it was festive looking at work... for a change.

Christmas Day 12-25-07

Jodie's Mom Norene and her son Chris at Kenny's house. He'd just made a comment about her age and she was pretending she was going to smack him! :-)

Abby with a coat on... this is rare as she usually never wears a coat during Winter. She usually only wears a hoodie!

Kenny's Dog "Boo" posing for a picture.

Hope still in her pj's.

I had to work on Christmas day evening, but I did get to go out and have a delicious dinner at Debbie and Harvey's place in the afternoon. After visiting there for awhile, then Erin, Abby, Ryan and I headed up to Kenny and Linda's place. I didn't eat anything there although Linda had prepared a lovely meal. I didn't want to overstuff myself and then go to work later and have a hard time staying awake. Ha Ha! I had to leave their place at 6:00 so I could go to work and be there by 6:30 p.m. I'd rather have visited awhile longer, but there WAS a nice compensation of being paid TRIPLE time at work so... Actually I worked both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Our "Sunshine Club" at work provided a little meal for those of us who had to work on Christmas too so that was nice.
The following week I had to work New Year's Eve as well. :-( But again, I'll be nicely compensated for it in my paycheck. I then had New Year's Day off and the two days following it as my regularly scheduled days off... like a mini-vacation in the middle of the week.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!!

Abby's Baby Shower

A Steeler's Baby Blanket!

Abby at 7 months.
Guests arriving at the shower

Cute little outfits from my neighbor, Kitty Campbell (in the black and white)
The cake was from Giant Eagle... delicious!
I'm a little late posting this one... the shower was held Sunday, November 4th in the party room over at Mom's apartment building. Abby was just about 7 months then. Here's a shot of Abby by herself, then a couple of shots of her opening gifts and of course, a picture of the cake. In case you can't read it very well, it says "Welcome Baby Eden", as the baby is to be named Eden Connor O'Donnell. Daddy Ryan is in the pictures opening the gifts.
It was a fun party.. lots of good food and tons of gifts!
The baby is due January 17th... real soon!
